Hazlovská pahorkatina (German about: Haslauer Hügelland ) is a sub-unit of the geomorphological main unit Smrčiny (Fichtelgebirge) according to the Czech system, which extends somewhat beyond the area commonly known as the Fichtelgebirge .

Position and extent

Hazlovská pahorkatina is located north of Cheb on the Czech-German border and covers an area between Nový Žďár , Horní Paseky , Libá , Hazlov , Skalná , Luby and Plesná . It roughly corresponds to the Czech share of the Selb-Wunsiedler plateau and the southern Elster Mountains . The highest elevation is the Záhoř with 744 mnm on the southwestern roof of the Elster Mountains.

To the north of it is the Ašská vrchovina (Ascher Upland) , to the south in the Chebská pahorkatina ( Cheb Uplands) near Cheb , which takes up roughly the Czech part of the High Fichtel Mountains , another sub-unit of the Fichtel Mountains follows . The Chebská pánev (Eger Basin) follows to the southeast .

Districts of Hazlovská pahorkatina form the Velkolužská vrchovina (Großloher Upland ) , Blatenská vrchovina (Plattenberg Upland) and Vojtanovská pahorkatina (Voitersreuth Upland ) .
