Miao Miao (born January 14, 1981 in Tianjin , China ) is an Australian table tennis player of Chinese origin. Together with Jian Fang Lay , she is the first Australian athlete to take part in four Olympic Games in table tennis . Among other achievements, she is a multiple winner in singles and doubles at the Oceanic Table Tennis Championships .

In 1995 Miao Miao became European student champion. From 1997 to 2012 she took part in eleven world championships .

Life

Miao Miao's parents emigrated to Poland in 1994, where their father became a coach of the Polish table tennis women. After her naturalization, she played there as a translator for the young, now best Polish table tennis player Wang Zeng Yi in Gdansk . The family moved to Australia in 1997 after the daughter had already achieved success in Poland. In Australia she acclimatized quickly and was followed by successes as a junior and several national titles in senior singles. Miao Miao lives in Melbourne .

In 2005 she came to Germany and joined the TV Rechberghausen club, with which she played in the Regionalliga Süd in 2005/06.
