Michał Tadeusz Grażyński (born May 12, 1890 in Gdów , † December 10, 1965 in London ) was a Polish politician. He was one of the leaders in the Third Polish Uprising in Silesia (1920) alongside Wojciech Korfanty , and voivode of the Polish Autonomous Voivodeship of Silesia (1922-1939).

Life

Grażyński was a supporter and a close collaborator of Marshal Józef Piłsudski , who later became President of Poland. In 1926 he became the new voivod of the Silesian Autonomous Voivodeship, which was newly founded in 1922 . He endeavored to reverse the German colonization efforts and came out against the German minority. He strove for the Polonization of Upper Silesian industry, the establishment of the Polish language as the official language and the restriction of the German school system and the German press.
