Michael Aigner

Michael Aigner (born May 20, 1805 in Vienna ; † April 4, 1861 there ) was an Austrian engraver .

Life

Michael Aigner was born on May 20, 1805 in Vienna. He received a scholarship from the Imperial and Royal School of Copper Engraving , where he was particularly concerned with historical portraits. In 1827 he graduated from school. From then on he concentrated on drawing mechanical, geometric and physical objects. He made a name for himself through this, so that he was commissioned to create mathematical tables in several books using copperplate engravings, which had to be very precise.
