Michael Ayrer (Quartermaster)

Michael Ayrer (born April 3, 1539 in Nuremberg , † November 4, 1582 in Dresden ) was a German armorer and court official.

Ayrer went with Elector August of Saxony to Dresden and became his armorer after impressing him with his crossbow shooting accuracy. The elector gave him 1,000 Reichstaler to buy a house in Dresden.

In 1576 he married Regina Bleyfelder, the daughter of the court silk embroiderer Christoph Bleyfelder.
