Michael Bachmann (medical doctor)

Michael Bachmann (born November 26, 1956 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) is a German doctor whose work and research focus is the development, therapy and diagnosis of tumor and autoimmune diseases. He has been a professor at the TU Dresden since 2002 .

Life

After graduating from high school in Ludwigshafen am Rhein in 1975 , Bachmann studied pharmacy between 1976 and 1981 at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz . He received in 1981 his license to practice medicine , was henceforth employed at the Mainz University and a doctorate ibid 1983 with a dissertation on "post-transcriptional modification of the heterogeneous nuclear RNA during the tire to the Messenger RMA" to Dr. rer. nat. In 1989 he completed his habilitation as a Dr. med. habil. on the subject of “Structure, function and intracellular transport of small ribonucleoprotein complexes associated with auriantigens” in the field of physiological chemistry .

1991 Michael Bachmann received a C3 - professorship from the Donors' Association for German Science , has been appointed as a result on 18 December 1997 as professor appointed and changed in 2000 as an associate member of the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation .

March 1, 2002, he followed the call to a C3 professor of immunology at the Medical Faculty Carl Gustav Carus Dresden University of Technology. There he was appointed W2 Professor of Immunology at the Institute of Immunology on February 1, 2009 .

Michael Bachmann is director of the Institute for Radiopharmaceutical Cancer Research at the Helmholtz Center Dresden-Rossendorf .
