Michael Bambang Hartono

Michael Bambang Hartono (* 1939 in Kudus , Indonesia ) is an Indonesian entrepreneur of Chinese origin. According to Forbes Magazine's 2018 list, he is the second richest man in Indonesia after his brother Robert Budi Hartono, with total assets estimated at $ 18.5 billion .

Life

Hartono and his brother Robert come from a family of Chinese origin. He owns the Djarum company , which produces tobacco products. Together with his brother, after the death of their father, he expanded the company into an internationally active tobacco manufacturer. He holds shares in the tobacco manufacturer Sampoerna . He also holds shares in Bank Central Asia , which he acquired from the entrepreneur Sudono Salim . Hartono is married and has four children.

He is an avid bridge player and won a bronze medal with the Indonesian team at the 2018 Asian Games at the age of 78 .
