Michael Becker (pastor)

Michael Becker (* 1949 in Siegerland ) is a German Protestant pastor.

Life

Becker grew up in Norderney and in the Fuldaer Land.

After graduating from high school in Lauterbach (Hesse) , he first studied social education with a focus on rehabilitation. Later he began to study theology in Hamburg.

After completing his studies, he was parish priest in Marburg from 1975 to 1997 and later at the Episcopal Church of St. Martin in Kassel.

From 1997 to 2013 he was a radio pastor at Hessischer Rundfunk . Pastor Claudia Rudolff followed him as broadcasting officer of the regional church Kurhessen-Waldeck .

Since his retirement he has been giving sermons in Kassel several times. Becker can occasionally be heard with short theological stories on the radio station hr4 .

Becker is editor of the magazine WERKSTATT for liturgy and sermon .

Private

Michael Becker is married and has one daughter. He lives in Kassel .
