Michael "Mick" Bennett (born June 8, 1940 in Birmingham ) is a retired British cyclist who won two Olympic bronze medals in track cycling .

Career

Michael Bennett won bronze medals in the team pursuit at the 1972 Summer Olympics with Ian Hallam , Ron Keeble and William Moore and in 1976 with Ian Banbury , Robin Croker and Ian Hallam .

Bennett was the British 1000-meter time trial champion in 1971 and 1972 and in the sprint in 1977 .

Awards

As part of the 1973 athlete of the year award , the British four-wheeler with Bennett and his teammates Richard Evans , Ian Hallam and William Moore and his coach Norman Sheil were honored as guests of honor for their fair behavior at the 1973 World Track Championships .
