Michael Berthold

Michael Berthold (born October 25, 1882 in Auersthal ; † March 19, 1956 Linz ) was an Austrian trade unionist, state secretary of the Christian trade unions in Eisenstadt and a politician during Austrian fascism . Between 1936 and 1938, Berthold held the office of Provincial Council in the Burgenland Provincial Government. Berthold was married.

Berthold was born as the son of the small housekeeper Michael Berthold from Auersthal. He graduated from elementary school and was a federal railroad employee from 1906 to 1921. Berthold was also involved in the trade union and on February 15, 1930 took over the office of state secretary of the Christian trade unions of Burgenland. Furthermore, Berthold was regional leader of the Burgenland Freedom Federation , from January 1, 1934 to March 12, 1938 President of the Administrative Commission of the Chamber of Labor and from March 2, 1934 to March 12, 1938 chairman of the regional cartel of the unified trade union federation . On May 20, 1936, Berthold succeeded Johann Wagner in the Sylvester II state government , which he belonged to until the German troops marched in on March 12, 1938.
