Michael Brater

Michael Brater (* 1944 in Siebeldingen ) is a German educator.

Life

Michael Brater studied sociology , philosophy and psychology in Munich and Berlin . He then researched and taught from 1971 to 1980 as a research assistant at the Institute for Sociology at the University of Munich and in the Collaborative Research Center 101, elaboration of the subject-related theory of professions . In 1980 Brater was a founding member of the Society for Training Research and Professional Development. V. In 1984/1985 he was a lecturer at the University of Paderborn and significantly involved in quality assurance and development in social and educational institutions. In 1998 he co-founded the certification body SocialCert GmbH.

Since 2007, Brater has been professor of vocational and cultural education (department of cultural studies) and head of the Institute for Art in Dialogue at the Alanus University for Art and Society in Alfter (North Rhine-Westphalia) with extensive activities in research, consulting and further education.
