Michael Dennert

Michael Dennert (* around 1935; † May 22, 2016 ) was a German jazz musician ( drums ).

Dennert played in Manfred Burzlaff's quartet in the 1960s , which released the album Jazz for Dancing in 1965 , and was a member of Joe Haider's trio . Further recordings were made with Olaf Kübler & Jan Hammer Trio ( Turtles - Live at Domicile 1968 , enja 2007) and Pony Poindexter ( The Happy Life of Pony , MPS 1970; recordings from 1968 on The Exciting Jazz of the Early Seventies , enja 2017), 1975 with Eugen Cicero as well as in the formation Spirit (album of the same name 1986, with Joe Kienemann and Peter Bockius ). In 1996 he performed at the Munich Jazz Festival with the Katrin Maurer Quartet and in 2005 at the Swing an der Donau Festival with the Munich sextet Swing Size .
