Michael Eggers

Michael Eggers (* 1969 in Karlsruhe ) is a German specialist in German .

Life

He completed his studies in German and English in Cologne and London with a doctorate in 2002. In 2006 he was a Sylvia Naish Research Fellow at the Institute of Germanic and Romance Studies, London. From 2004 he was a research assistant at the Institute for German Language and Literature I at the University of Cologne, and from 2013 academic councilor there . After completing his habilitation in 2013, he was a short-term lecturer in Amsterdam in 2014 . In the 2014/2015 winter semester he was a W3 professor at the University of Hamburg . In the summer semester of 2017 he was a W3 professor for comparative literature at the University of Bonn . In 2019 he was appointed adjunct professor at the University of Cologne.

His main research interests are the history and theory of comparative literature, the history of knowledge and literature, the voice in literature and cultural theory, multilingual literature and contemporary drama.
