Michael F. Pfeifer

Michael F. Pfeifer (born December 8, 1970 in Vienna ) is an Austrian association functionary. He has been the President of the Academic Foreign Policy Forum (AFA) since March 2000 . In December 2001 he became General Secretary of the non-partisan Austrian Society for Foreign Policy and the United Nations (ÖGAVN). Its president is the former Federal Chancellor Wolfgang Schüssel . In addition, together with Herbert Gmoser, he runs the independent Kurt-Waldheim-Memorial-Library in Vienna as a private place of encounter and dialogue about Austrian politics, Europe and the United Nations as well as about contemporary history and questions about the future.

Career

After graduating from high school in 1989, Pfeifer did military service . He began studying law in 1990. From February 1992 to March 1994, he was in charge of the tutorial project for the Austrian student body at the law faculty of the University of Vienna to supervise first-year students.

The independent magazine GLOBAL VIEW, published by the Academic Forum for Foreign Policy (AFA) and the Austrian Society for Foreign Policy and the United Nations (ÖGAVN), offers background information on international topics from the United Nations, Europe and Austria. Pfeifer is the publisher and Bernd Hermann is editor-in-chief.
