Michael Fahres

Michael Fahres (born April 15, 1951 in Bamberg ) is a German composer and has lived in the Netherlands since 1973 .

After studying German, theater studies, music and philosophy, he studied at the Institute for Sonology with GMKönig, W.Kaegi and OELaske, composition under Peter Schat, Konrad Boehmer, Louis Andriessen and Ton de Leeuw.

From 1976 to 1998 he was director of the Center for Electronic Music (CEM-Studio) and now lives in Utrecht as a composer and employee of the Dutch radio station NPS. In 1979 Fahres initiated the "European Minimal Music" project, which was exhibited in various countries around the world. In 1983 he received the composition prize of the Sweelinck Conservatory .

His project "Sunwheel", initiated in 1990, a 16-hour concert on the subject of the sun in collaboration with Kurt Dahlke and Michael Jüllich , was proposed for the European Prix ​​Italia radio award and performed in Lelystad and on the Massada rock in Israel.
