Michael G. Fritz

Michael G. Fritz (born February 4, 1953 in Berlin ) is a German writer .

Life

Michael G. Fritz grew up in East Berlin. He completed a degree in deep drilling technology at the Freiberg Mining Academy , but was de-registered for political reasons and then worked, among other things, as a warehouse worker, co-driver and, from 1976, as a library employee in Dresden. Fritz gained literary experience in the Wort authors' community , of which he was a member. After the peaceful revolution in the GDR , Michael G. Fritz was rehabilitated by the TU Bergakademie Freiberg in 1993 and subsequently received the academic degree of Diplomingenieur.

Fritz became known through novels and stories. Some of his works have been translated into English, Polish, Romanian and French.

He is a member of the PEN Center Germany , the Independent Writers Association Dresden (ASSO) and a member of the board of the Villa Augustin Literature Center.

Michael G. Fritz lives as a freelance writer in Dresden and Berlin . He is married and has two children.
