Michael Gerstberger

Michael Gerstberger (born April 23, 1867 in Gurten , Upper Austria ; † April 30, 1931 in Linz , Upper Austria) was a farmer and politician .

Life

After Gerstberger took over his parents' farm in 1892, he developed his activities in particular in the agricultural professional representation and in local and state politics. He was instrumental in founding and developing the cattle breeding associations and agricultural cooperatives . In 1908 he became a member of the provincial culture council and was also a founding member of the Upper Austrian Farmers' Union . From 1898 to 1901 and from 1913 to 1919 he was mayor of Gurten, then until 1925 a member of the municipal committee. Between 1909 and 1918 he was also a member of the state parliament and in 1918/1919 of the provisional state assembly . Gerstberger was married twice and had ten children.
