Michael Gesell

Michael Gesell (born June 21, 1870 in Oberschützen , † December 22, 1933 in Graz ) was an Austrian professor and politician ( GDVP / Landbund ). Gesell was a member of the Burgenland state parliament and third state parliament president. He was married.

Gesell was born as the son of the farmer Michael Gesell from Oberschützen. He attended elementary school and the teacher training college in Oberschützen and acquired his teaching qualification in 1890. From 1905 he was professor of music at the Protestant teacher training college and at the Oberschützen practice school and was appointed to the government council in 1931 .

At the beginning of October 1923, Gesell transferred from the Greater German People's Party to the Landbund after the merger of the two parties had been resolved. He was a member of the Burgenland Landtag from July 15, 1922 to December 5, 1930, and was the third President of the Landtag from May 20, 1927 to December 5, 1930.
