Otto Ernst Hesse
Otto Ernst Hesse (born January 20, 1891 in Jeßnitz (Anhalt) , † May 16, 1946 in Berlin ) was a German playwright, publicist, comedy writer, storyteller, poet and theater critic. He also published under the pseudonym Michael Gesell .
Hesse studied philosophy at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg , the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the University of Leipzig . With a doctoral thesis on Jens Immanuel Baggesen , he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD . From 1917 he worked as a features editor for the Königsberger Allgemeine Zeitung . In Berlin since 1925, he wrote for the Vossische Zeitung and from 1932 as head of the arts section for BZ am Mittag .
Otto Ernst Hesse wrote scripts for numerous films from the National Socialist era . He also wrote the text for the famous hit film " The night is not just for sleeping ". He died at the age of 55.
