Michael Golden , also Mike Golden (* around 1945 ) is an American comic artist .

Life

Golden began working as a full-time comic book artist in the 1970s. He first caused a stir with his work on the Micronauts series, the comic adaptation of a series of toy products that, under his direction, became one of the most commercially successful series of the time. In the further course of the 1970s and 1980s, work on numerous other Marvel publications followed. Golden drew for the superhero series She-Hulk , Marvel Fanfare , and Doctor Strange , for the war series The Nam , the fantasy humor classic Howard The Duck and the mystery series Bizarre Adventures . There were also special projects such as the GI Joe Yearbook # 2 or the Avengers Annual # 10.

For Marvel competitor DC Comics , Golden designed several comics from the traditional Batman series in the 1980s , including the popular Batman Special # 1 from 1984, which Golden created in collaboration with Mike W. Barr , and several issues from the Batman Family series .

In the 1990s and 2000s, Golden mostly only submitted cover drawings, for example for the DC series Nightwing , Batman , Superman : Man of Steel , Vigilante and Detective Comics . Other projects of the time were working on the series Rome , Beavis and Butthead and Mutant X .
