Michael Greiling (* 1966 ) is a German author and scientist in the field of business administration, especially workflow management in the healthcare sector.

His scientific field of activity includes research and continuous further development of operationally feasible procedures and methodologies on all topics of a holistic concept for workflow management in health care. Greiling gained national recognition through 300 research and development projects at home and abroad. The development of the ClipMed software is nationally and internationally with 13 innovation prizes the most awarded software in the health care for the topic BPM.

Life

The business administration graduate and social pedagogue received his doctorate in economics before he advised and scientifically supported industrial companies at the Institute for Applied Innovation Research (IAI) at the Ruhr University in Bochum on issues relating to innovation management , change management and quality management .

From 2000 Greiling was responsible for the controlling division of APB Unternehmensberatung GmbH and was a member of the management conference of the corporate group - Evangelische Treuhand / APB / BSU, a society of regional churches and diaconal organizations of the Evangelical Church in Germany. From the 2006/2007 winter semester to the 2014/2015 winter semester, Greiling taught as a professor at the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences , Gelsenkirchen, Bocholt, Recklinghausen , in the field of business administration, especially workflow management in healthcare. Greiling was a founding member and board member of the Westphalian Institute for Health (WIGe) as part of the central research focus at the Westphalian University and head of the research focus - Trustworthy Health IT at the Westphalian University.

Since 2004, Greiling has been managing director of the Institute for Workflow Management in Health Care (IWiG), Telgte, affiliated to the praxisHochschule Köln, Rheine, Heidelberg. Michael Greiling is a founding member of the expert group on operating theater efficiency that was established in 2010. This was founded with the idea of ​​generating expertise on the subject of OR management and making it available to those affected.

Since the 2015 summer semester, Greiling has held a professorship for workflow management in health care at the praxisHochschule - University of Applied Sciences - Dual University for Health and Social Affairs. Parallel to his appointment, Greiling is responsible for the establishment of the software-based academic training to become a “Certified Workflow Manager in Health Care” with a university certificate. As an author, Greiling wrote 140 publications on process management and optimization in healthcare facilities, including 50 book projects and 90 articles in specialist journals.
