Michael Gruber (actor)
Michael Thomas Gruber (born November 1, 1964 ) is an American actor and singer.
Life
Gruber was born in Cincinnati , Ohio , the youngest of 4 children , and has 2 sisters and a brother. Michael Gruber showed great interest in gymnastics and diving at an early age . At the age of 14, he became the second best diver in his age group worldwide.
His passion was acting, so he studied theater at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music . His Broadway breakthrough was with A Chorus Line in 1989–1990.
Michael Gruber played the role of the cat Munkustrap in the musical Cats , both in Broadway productions and in the video adaptation of Cats from 1997/98.
