Omar de Jesús Mejía Giraldo (born January 21, 1966 in El Santuario , Departamento de Antioquia , Colombia ) is a Colombian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Florencia .

Life

Omar de Jesús Mejía Giraldo received on 16 November 1991, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On April 27, 2013, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Florencia. The Bishop of Sonsón-Rionegro , Fidel León Cadavid Marín , gave him episcopal ordination on June 29 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Medellín , Ricardo Antonio Tobón Restrepo , and the Archbishop of Ibagué , Flavio Calle Zapata .

With the elevation of the diocese of Florencia to archbishopric on July 13, 2019, he was appointed its first archbishop.
