Jorge Alberto Ossa Soto (born July 29, 1956 in El Carmen de Viboral , Departamento de Antioquia , Colombia ) is a Colombian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Nueva Pamplona .

Life

Jorge Alberto Ossa Soto studied in Medellín and Innsbruck , he completed his studies in Innsbruck with a master's degree in dogmatic theology. He was ordained a priest on May 23, 1982 . After working as parish priest and rector of the local seminary, he became vicar general of the Istmina-Tadó diocese .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Florencia on January 21, 2003 . He was ordained episcopal on March 1st of the same year by the Bishop of Istmina-Tadó, Alonso Llano Ruiz ; Co- consecrators were Luis Madrid Merlano , Bishop of Cartago , and José de Jesús Quintero Díaz , Vicar Apostolic of Leticia . As a motto he chose Scio cui credidi . The ceremonial inauguration ( enthronement ) took place on March 29 of the same year.

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on July 15, 2011 Bishop of Santa Rosa de Osos . On October 15, 2019, Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Nueva Pamplona. The inauguration took place on November 28 of the same year.
