history

On February 8, 1951, the Apostolic Prefecture Leticia was by Pope Pius XII. Erected from the cession of territory by the Vicariate Apostolic Caquetá . On October 23, 2000, the Apostolic Prefecture Leticia was raised to the Apostolic Vicariate by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Cum in Praefectura Apostolica Laetitiae .
