Jairo Jaramillo Monsalve (born December 2, 1940 in Rionegro ) is a Colombian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Archbishop of Barranquilla .

Life

Jairo Jaramillo Monsalve was ordained a priest on July 26, 1966 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Riohacha on July 16, 1988 . The Bishop of Sonsón-Rionegro , Alfonso Uribe Jaramillo , ordained him episcopal on September 9 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Oscar Angel Bernal , Bishop of Girardota , and Livio Reginaldo Fischione OFMCap , Emeritus Vicar Apostolic of Riohacha. As a motto he chose Omnibus Omnia Factus .

On June 10, 1995, he was appointed bishop of Santa Rosa de Osos . On November 13, 2010, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Archbishop of Barranquilla . The inauguration took place on December 11th of the same year.

On November 14, 2017, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
