The diocese of Riohacha ( Latin Dioecesis Riviascianensis , Spanish diócesis de Riohacha ) is an in Colombia situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Riohacha .
history
The diocese of Riohacha was on December 4, 1952 by Pope Pius XII. Established from the cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Guajira as Apostolic Vicariate Riohacha . On July 16, 1988, the Vicariate Apostolic Riohacha was raised to the diocese. The diocese of Riohacha is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Barranquilla as a suffragan .
