Francisco Antonio Ceballos Escobar CSsR (born March 4, 1958 in Génova ) is a Colombian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Riohacha .

Life

Francisco Antonio Ceballos Escobar attended the Small Seminary of San Clemente María Hofbauer in Manizales . He then joined the Redemptorist Order and made perpetual profession on August 5, 1984 . Ceballos Escobar studied philosophy at the Centro Pastoral de Filosofia in Bogotá and Catholic theology at the Teologado Interprovincial Redentorista in Tlalpizáhuac and at the Pontifical University Xaveriana in Bogotá. He was ordained a priest on June 29, 1985 .

After his ordination, Francisco Antonio Ceballos Escobar initially worked as a pastor in Manizales before he became parish vicar of the parish of Sant'Alfonso in Bogotá in 1986 . From 1987 to 1989 he was director and teacher at the Redemptorist Minor Seminary in Manizales. In 1989 Ceballos Escobar became director of the Minor Seminary of the Vicariate Apostolic Sibundoy . From 1990 to 1995 he was the reign of the Redemptorist Seminary in Manizales. Ceballos Escobar graduated from the Universidad Santo Tomás in Bogotá with a degree in educational sciences . From 1998 to 2001 he was Superior of the Order in Bogotá. In 1999 Francisco Antonio Ceballos Escobar also became Provincial Councilor and Head of the Secretariat for Redemptorist Education. From 2001 to 2008 he was Provincial of the Colombian Order of the Redemptorist Province for two terms before becoming provicer of the Apostolic Vicariate of Puerto Carreño on September 3, 2008 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on June 10, 2010 Vicar Apostolic of Puerto Carreño and Titular Bishop of Zarna . The episcopal ordination received his Archbishop Aldo Cavalli , Apostolic Nuncio in Colombia, on July 30 of that year; Co- consecrators were Alvaro Efrén Rincón Rojas CSsR, Apostolic Vicar Emeritus of Puerto Carreño, and Fabio de Jesús Morales Grisales CSsR, Bishop Emeritus of Mocoa-Sibundoy . The inauguration took place on August 22 of the same year.

On April 22, 2020, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Riohacha. The inauguration took place on June 4th of the same year.
