The Diocese of Mocoa-Sibundoy ( lat. : Dioecesis Mocoënsis-Sibundoyensis , span. : Diócesis de Mocoa-Sibundoy ) is an in Colombia situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Sibundoy .

history

The diocese Mocoa-Sibundoy was on February 8, 1951 by Pope Pius XII. Established from the cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Caquetá as Apostolic Vicariate Sibundoy . On October 29, 1999 the Apostolic Vicariate Sibundoy was raised to a diocese by Pope John Paul II and renamed the Diocese of Mocoa-Sibundoy . It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Popayán as a suffragan . Pope Francis made the diocese subject to the Archdiocese of Florencia on July 13, 2019 as a suffragan diocese.
