Luis Albeiro Maldonado Monsalve (born January 20, 1958 in Fredonia , Colombia ) is a Colombian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Mocoa-Sibundoy .

Life

Luis Albeiro Maldonado Monsalve entered the seminary in Medellín and studied at the Pontifical University of Bolivariana . On July 5, 1986, he received by Pope John Paul II. The Holy Orders for the Archdiocese of Medellin . After further studies he obtained a licentiate in spiritual theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University .

In the Archdiocese of Medellín, in addition to pastoral care, he was active in the education and training of priests . He was spiritual at the seminary and taught as a professor at the Pontifical University of Bolivariana, where he was also active as a university chaplain. Since 2011 he has been pastor in Bello and episcopal vicar for the northern region of the archdiocese.

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Mocoa-Sibundoy on October 15, 2015 . The Archbishop of Medellín, Ricardo Antonio Tobón Restrepo , ordained him episcopal on December 3 of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio to Colombia, Archbishop Ettore Balestrero , and the Archbishop of Popayán , Iván Antonio Marín López . The inauguration in the diocese of Mocoa-Sibundoy took place on December 15 of the same year.
