The Diocese of Garzón ( lat. : Dioecesis Garzonensis , span. : Diócesis de Garzón ) is an in Colombia situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Garzón .
history
The diocese of Garzón was on May 20, 1900 by Pope Leo XIII. Erected from territory ceded by the Diocese of Tolima and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Popayán as a suffragan . On February 25, 1964, the Garzón diocese was renamed the Garzón-Neiva diocese . The diocese of Garzón-Neiva was divided into the dioceses of Garzón and Neiva on July 24, 1972 . On December 14, 1974, the diocese of Garzón was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Ibagué as a suffragan.
