The Diocese of Tolima ( Latin Dioecesis Tolimensis ) was one in Colombia situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Ibagué .

history

The diocese of Tolima was founded in 1894 by Pope Leo XIII. Erected from the cession of the Archdiocese of Santafé en Nueva Granada and the Diocese of Popayán . On May 20, 1900, the Diocese of Tolima by Leo XIII. dissolved. The dioceses of Garzón and Ibagué were established from the territory of the diocese of Tolima .

The diocese of Tolima was subordinate to the Archdiocese of Santafé en Nueva Granada as a suffragan .

The only bishop was Esteban Rojas Tovar .
