The Apostolic Prefecture of Vichada ( lat. : Apostolica praefectura Vichada ) was one in Colombia situated Roman Catholic Apostolic Prefecture , located in Puerto Carreño .

history

The Apostolic Prefecture of Vichada was founded on April 7, 1956 by Pope Pius XII. Erected from the cession of territory by the Vicariate Apostolic Villavicencio . On December 22, 1999 the Apostolic Prefecture of Vichada was dissolved by Pope John Paul II . The Apostolic Vicariates Puerto Gaitán and Puerto Carreño were established from the territory of the Apostolic Prefecture Vichada .

The prefecture area was 102,900 km². In 1999 there were 45,000 Catholics living there. The Apostolic Prefecture was divided into four parishes and had 15 priests .
