Livio Reginaldo Fischione

Livio Reginaldo Fischione OFMCap (born April 15, 1925 in Tornimparte , Italy ; † June 11, 2009 in Cartagena , Colombia ) was Bishop of the Roman Catholic Church and Vicar Apostolic of Riohacha , Colombia.

Life

Livio Reginaldo Fischione joined the religious order of the Capuchin in and received on 19 February 1950, the priestly ordination . The following year he came to La Guajira as a missionary , where he was pastor in Riohacha , Manaure , Nazareth and Aremasain .

Pope Paul VI appointed him titular bishop of Aquae in Byzacena in 1966 and appointed him apostolic vicar in what was then the vicariate of Riohacha . He was ordained bishop on December 12, 1966 by the nuncio and later Cardinal Giuseppe Paupini ; Co-consecrators were Vicente Roig y Villalba OFMCap, Vicar Apostolic in Valledupar, Colombia, and Miguel Saturnino Aurrecoechea Palacios OFMCap, Vicar Apostolic in Machiques, Venezuela. He was significantly involved in setting up an education system and had numerous schools built. In 1988 Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
