The Roman Catholic Diocese of Sonsón-Rionegro ( lat. : Dioecesis Sonsonensis-Rivi Nigri , span. : Diócesis de SonSon-Rionegro ) is an in Colombia situated Roman Catholic diocese based in SonSon .

history

The diocese Sonsón-Rionegro was on March 18, 1957 by Pope Pius XII. from the cession of territory by the Archdiocese of Medellín as the Diocese of Sonsón . It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Medellín as a suffragan . On April 20, 1968, the Diocese of Sonsón was renamed the Diocese of Sonsón-Rionegro .
