Flavio Calle Zapata

Flavio Calle Zapata (born February 18, 1944 in San Andrés ) is a Colombian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Archbishop of Ibagué .

Life

Paul VI ordained him a priest on August 22, 1968 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him prelate of Alto Sinú on February 16, 1989 . The bishop of Santa Rosa de Osos , Joaquín García Ordóñez , gave him episcopal ordination on March 16 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Angelo Acerbi , Apostolic Nuncio in Colombia , and Darío Castrillón Hoyos , Bishop of Pereira .

On February 16, 1993 he was appointed Bishop of Sonsón-Rionegro . On January 10, 2003, he was appointed Archbishop of Ibagué.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on March 20, 2019.
