The College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) is the faculty of music at the University of Cincinnati .

history

The institute emerged in 1955 from the merger of the "Cincinnati Conservatory of Music" founded by Clara Baur in 1867 and the "College of Music Cincinnati", which emerged in 1878. On August 1, 1962, it was incorporated into the University of Cincinnati , Ohio's second largest state university . Until 2007 the premises, located in the south of the western university campus, were continuously expanded. The CCM includes the Corbett Auditorium with 750 seats, the Patricia Corbett Theater (400 seats) and several smaller stages (Cohen Family Studio Theater, Robert J. Werner Recital Hall, Watson Recital Hall).

With currently 1,500 students and 150 teachers, it is the largest music college in the US state of Ohio. University rankings (including "US News world report") rank it among the best American music colleges. The conducting and singing classes have been particularly outstanding departments for years. Many influential personalities of the international music scene are graduates of the CCM and confirm the excellent reputation of this institute.
