Michael Habs

Michael Habs (born May 22, 1950 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German manager, adjunct professor of phytopharmacology and was managing director at Dr. Willmar Schwabe .

Live and act

Michael Habs studied medicine from 1968 to 1974 at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . In Bonn he became active in the Corps Rhenania and reciprocated in 1969. In 1974 he was awarded a Dr. med. PhD. In 1981 he completed his habilitation there and in 1982 he was appointed private lecturer. After his habilitation in 1985, he was appointed adjunct professor for experimental medicine (oncology) and toxicology at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich in 1992 and has been a lecturer in phytopharmacology ever since.

From 1974 to 1982 he worked as a scientist at the Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg. From 1982 to 1983 he was head of clinical research at Heinrich Mack GmbH & Co. KG in Illertissen. In 1985 he became head of the medical-scientific department and medical director of Smith Kline Dauelsberg in Munich. As a result, he switched to Dr. Willmar Schwabe GmbH & Co. KG , where he became Head of Marketing and Sales and in 1996 Managing Director. In 2015 he left the management.

Habs' scientific work focused on toxicology and experimental oncology.
