Michael Heghmanns

Michael Heghmanns (* 1957 in Lobberich ) is a German lawyer and university professor at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster .

Life

After studying law from 1976 to 1982 at the University of Hanover , Heghmanns worked from 1983 as a probationary judge for the state of Lower Saxony. In 1985 he moved to the Hanover Public Prosecutor's Office as a public prosecutor . From 1989 to 1990 he was briefly seconded to the university service as a public prosecutor at the University of Hanover, after which he worked for the Hanover public prosecutor's office until 1998. As early as 1991, he received his doctorate from Diethart Zielinski at the University of Hanover. jur. PhD. In 1998 he completed his habilitation, also in Hanover, with which he was awarded the venia legendi for the subjects of criminal law, criminal procedural law and penal law.

In the 1999 summer semester he was a professor at the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg , and in the 2001 summer semester he was a professor at the University of Frankfurt (Oder) . From the following winter semester, Heghmanns held the chair for criminal law, criminal procedure law and media criminal law at the University of Frankfurt (Oder). In the 2006/07 winter semester he moved to the University of Münster to take the chair for criminal law, criminal procedure law, media criminal law and penal law. From 2004 to 2006 Heghmanns was also a judge at the 2nd Criminal Senate of the Brandenburg Higher Regional Court , and since 2007 he has been chairman of the 15th small criminal division of the Münster Regional Court .
