Michael Helmberger

Michael Helmberger (born November 13, 1820 in Regenstauf , † November 5, 1900 in Regensburg ) was a Bavarian Catholic clergyman.

From 1867 to 1898 he was city ​​dean of the parish church of St. Martin in Amberg . At his suggestion, the Catholic Day of 1884 was held in Amberg. The founding of the Amberger Volkszeitung and various charities, such as the girls' orphanage, go back to him.

For his services to the city, he was made an honorary citizen of Amberg on April 19, 1892 .

He then came to Regensburg, where he was canon at the collegiate monastery St. Johann and choir regent at the parish church of St. Emmeram .
