Michael Hofreiter

Michael Hofreiter (* 1973 ) is a German evolutionary biologist , professor at the University of Potsdam , where he holds the chair for General Zoology / Evolutionary Adaptive Genomics .

Live and act

Hofreiter studied biology and completed his diploma in 1999 at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . He received his doctorate in 2002 from the University of Leipzig and then worked as a postdoc and research group leader at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology until 2009 . In 2009 he received a reputation as a professor at the University of York , where it meets the Department of Evolutionary Biology and Ecology occupied. In 2013 Hofreiter received the call to Potsdam, which he accepted in October 2013. Hofreiter focuses on the analysis of complete genomes from fossil and modern samples.

Michael Hofreiter's brother is the German politician Anton Hofreiter .
