Michael J. Brooks

Michael Jamal Brooks (born August 13, 1983 - July 20, 2020 ) was an American political journalist , presenter , satirist and author . He has worked as a producer and later as a co-host for The Majority Report with Sam Seder since 2012 and founded his own media platform, The Michael Brooks Show , in 2017 . There he interviewed numerous well-known political figures on the left, including Noam Chomsky , Cornel West and Slavoj Zizek . He described himself as a democratic socialist.

Life

Brooks was born in New York and raised in Hampshire County, Massachusetts.

In 2012 Brooks started working for the political talk radio show and podcast The Majority Report with Sam Seder .

In 2020 Brooks published Against the Web: A Cosmopolitan Answer to the New Right . In this, Brooks dealt with the Intellectual Dark Web , a loose group of conservative and liberal thinkers and media figures, including Sam Harris , Jordan Peterson and Eric Weinstein , and discussed possibilities for progressive movements with this phenomenon and intellectual traditions from which this emerged to deal with.
