Michael Jungclaus (born June 19, 1964 in Berlin-Tempelhof ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). In 2009 he moved to the state parliament of Brandenburg for the first time and was re-elected in 2014. He did not run again for the 2019 state election.

Life and work

Michael Jungclaus has lived with his family in Neuenhagen near Berlin since 1994 . The trained cabinet maker worked in the sales of IT systems until 2006. Until March 2010 he worked as a self-employed solar craftsman.

In 2007 Michael Jungclaus joined Bündnis90 / Die Grünen and has held numerous political offices since then. In 2007/2008 he was a member of the economic and administrative committee in Neuenhagen and has been on the building committee of the Märkisch-Oderland district council (MOL) since 2009. From 2008 to 2019 he was the spokesman for the Märkisch-Oderland district association of Bündnis90 / Die Grünen. In the state elections in 2009 and 2014, Michael Jungclaus moved into the Brandenburg state parliament via the state list (4th place in the list in 2009 and 6th place in the list in 2014). In the 2013 federal election, Michael Jungclaus was a direct candidate for constituency 59. From 2014 to 2019 he was a member of the district council in Märkisch-Oderland and a member of the building and economic committee for the district parliamentary group Green / B90 - Pro Future.

In addition to his parliamentary work, he is active in various associations and initiatives. He is co-founder and chairman of the “Solarverein Neuenhagen eV”, initiator of the Neuenhagener BHKW GbR as well as the first two citizen solar systems in MOL and the project FIFTY / FIFTY in MOL. Furthermore, he was a member of the board of trustees of the DLRG Brandenburg, the state board of trustees of the International Federation of Brandenburg and member of the board of the working group “Labor and Economy” of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia.

In the state parliament

As a Member of Parliament, Michael Jungclaus was most recently a member of the Committee for Infrastructure and Regional Planning and the Committee for European Affairs, Development Policy and Consumer Protection. In the Bündnis90 / Die Grünen parliamentary group, he was the political spokesman for infrastructure, regional planning, Europe, development policy and consumer protection. He did not run again for the 2019 state election.
