Michael Käld

Michael Käld (born May 6, 1954 in Kruunupyy ) is a Finnish football coach and former football player . He has coached the Finnish women's national team since 2001 .

As a player, Käld was active for the second division clubs GBK Kokkola, Hovsala BK and Larsmo BK. After his playing career he was coach of the second men's team at KBK Kokkola before moving to Nykarleby IK. In 2000 he took over the women's team of FC United Pietarsaari and led to the cup victory and the runner-up.

A year later, Käld was appointed national coach of the Finnish women's team. Under his leadership, the team qualified for the 2005 European Championship in England , where the Finnish selection surprisingly reached the semifinals.
