Michael Köpper (born November 17, 1966 in Soest ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

The defender began his career at Hannover 96 , where he played a Bundesliga game in his first season . After the relegation of the 96s, he completed 30 games for the "Reds" in the 2nd division , in which he scored two goals and one assist. Since he no longer played a role in the concept of the 96er in the following season, Köpper moved to the new league TSV Havelse during the first half of the season . After the direct relegation of TSV, Köpper moved to Braunschweig in 1991 for Eintracht . But even there, the defender only stayed two seasons before moving to SV Waldhof Mannheim , where he was part of the regular staff for years and played 106 games. After Mannheim ended the second division season 1996/97 with a relegation place, he went to VfB Lübeck . But even with his new club, he was relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga. He stayed in Lübeck and played in the Regionalliga Nord for a year . In 1998 Köpper finally went to the Kickers Offenbach , where he ended his career in 2001. He played a total of 253 games in the second division, in which he scored seven goals.

Since December 18, 2010 he has been a coach at TSG Weinheim in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg , which he now looks after in the Association League North Baden after relegation.
