Michael Kahlo

Michael Kahlo (born May 25, 1950 in Hanover ) is a German lawyer and professor at the University of Leipzig .

biography

In 1971, Kahlo began studying law at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main , which he completed in 1976 with the first state examination in law. In 1979 he finished his legal education with the Second State Examination. He then worked as a lawyer in Frankfurt am Main. In 1988 he was at the University of Frankfurt am Main with the thesis The problem of the connection with the breach of duty in spurious omission offenses. A criminal law and legal philosophical investigation into the causality of human action and its criminal law concept. to the Dr. iur. PhD . In 1996 he completed his habilitation at the University of Frankfurt am Main with the study The form of omission as a criminal offense. A criminal law-legal philosophical investigation into the theory of personal action.

After substituting professorships in Frankfurt am Main and Marburg , he was appointed to the University of Leipzig in 1997, where he has held the professorship for criminal law, criminal procedure law and legal philosophy ever since.

He retired in 2016.
