Michael Karpovich

Michael Karpovich ( Russian Михаил Михайлович Карпович / Michail Mikhailovich Karpovich ; born August 3, 1888 in Tbilisi , † November 7, 1959 in Cambridge ) was a Russian-American historian at Harvard University . He is considered the father of Russian studies in the USA. In 1950 he was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences .
