Michael Kindsgrab (born April 27, 1964 in Bielefeld ) is a German diplomat . From August 2016 to August 2019 he was Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Azerbaijan .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1983, Kindsgrab initially began training in the senior foreign service in the Foreign Affairs department of the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration, which he graduated in 1986 with a degree in administrative management. He then worked at the Foreign Office in Bonn and then between 1987 and 1990 in the economic department of the embassy in the Yemeni Arab Republic , before working in the legal and consular department of the embassy in Poland between 1990 and 1992 . In addition to his professional activity, he completed a degree in economics from 1986 to 1992, followed by a shortened preparatory service for the senior foreign service between 1992 and 1993.

After graduation, Kindsgrab was a consultant in the Political Department of the Foreign Office in Berlin from 1993 to 1995 and then from 1995 to 1998 he worked in the Political Department of the Permanent Mission to the United Nations (UN) in New York City . After he was Permanent Representative of the Ambassador to Georgia from 1998 to 2001 , he was employed in the management staff of the Foreign Office between 2001 and 2005. From 2005 to 2009 he was head of a work unit in the European department of the Foreign Office and between 2009 and 2012 head of the economics department at the embassy in Russia , before he was head of department 109 (budget and finances) in the Foreign Office from 2012 to 2016. and was responsible for the household.

In August 2016, Heidrun Tempel replaced the child's grave as Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Azerbaijan .

Kindsgrab is married and has three children.
