Michael Konrad Wankel
Michael Konrad Wankel (born January 16, 1749 in Hammelburg ; † April 28, 1834 ) was a member of the First Bavarian State Parliament (second chamber according to the constitution of 1818).
The master tanner was awarded the Wasa order of knights by the Swedish King Karl XIV. Johann . Wankel had smuggled Napoleon's Marshal Bernadotte, the later King of Sweden, Charles XIV. John, through enemy lines in a cart.
