Michael Maderthaner

Michael Maderthaner (born May 18, 1925 in Sankt Gallen , Styria , † August 14, 1981 there ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and works council chairman. From 1971 to 1981 he was a member of the National Council .

After primary and secondary school, Maderthaner learned the trade of a clerk and was a factory worker in the Weissenbach pulp mill on the Enns , where he rose to the position of central works council chairman (from 1962 to 1964) and completed the social academy in Graz . He was also a local councilor in Weißenbach an der Enns from 1955, was elected vice mayor in 1967 and took over the office of mayor between 1970 and 1971. Then he was again until 1975 local council in Weißenbach. Within the party, Maderthaner was a member of the state party representation of the SPÖ Styria and a member of the district party representation of the SPÖ Liezen, within the union he was also a member of the state management of the Styrian chemical workers' union and a member of the district committee of the ÖGB - Liezen .
